Black Professional Men, Inc. (BPM)’s continued partnership with the ITSUITSYOU.ORG organization provides clothes & needed resources for Baltimore’s Black Men and Boys
(Baltimore, Md.) January 21, 2015 - Black Professional Men, Inc. (BPM) and the Youth Development Committee (YDC)’s unique partnership with ITSUITSYOU.ORG a self-development organization, continues to provide a valuable opportunity for Baltimore men and boys, by contributing to every man’s ability to be confident, self-sufficient, and successful in his career endeavors. Since the campaign began in February 2014, countless donors have contributed an abundance of men & boys’ suits, suit jackets, shirts, ties, & belts to Patterson Park Laundry and Dry Cleaners, which is open 7 days a week, located at 2805 E. Fayette St in Baltimore, and owned by BPM member Louis Monk. Currently, our partnership is requesting donations of dress shirts (preferably new & white), clean dress shoes, and ties – all sizes are needed and welcome.
These donations provide resources in preparing for employment interviews, building self-esteem, attending networking opportunities, social events, worship services, and enhancing that “first impression”. The initial success of the partnership still continues to demonstrate the commitment and sense of urgency our communities must embrace to further ensure success.
Your organization can develop a suit drive in your community, following these six (6) easy steps:
* Step one: Conduct a needs assessment among the community. Use this survey link as a help: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/3Q9VRZV
* Step two: Collect and review the completed assessment forms
* Step three: Socialize a campaign to collect the requested items
* Step four: Establish a collection period and location
* Step five: Distribute the items to the individuals in need
* Step six: Collect testimonies of the impact the items had on the person(s) who received them.
As supported in scripture (Proverbs 22:6), Black Professional Men’s partnership with ITSUITSYOU.ORG is committed to raise up our black boys and men so they won’t depart from the ways that strengthen them.
